The James NoMad hotel in New York City is giving guests a nightly discount as an extra incentive to disconnect from technology with its new Digital Detox Package.

For each night that technology goes unused during the stay, The James NoMad will offer 10 percent off that night’s rate. Upon arrival, guests place their devices in a locked container and check into their room, which is stripped of all electronics, including the TV and alarm clock to make sure guests can really unplug. The clear and portable container holding guests’ devices will be brought to their room upon arrival. The container displays a time clock which will be set upon guests’ preferences, and it will remain locked until the time is up.

Instead of worrying about their devices, guests can indulge in the property’s wellness offerings or explore the city free of distractions. The Digital Detox Package includes accommodations, pre-selected books to be placed in-room prior to arrival, newspapers delivered to the room each morning, a complimentary session at INSCAPE, an itinerary and corresponding directions to top activities throughout New York City, plus access to Four Bodies Wellness programming. This program includes in-room experiences that target the physical, mental, spiritual and emotional components of wellbeing, such as guided meditation and yoga practices.

Rates for this package start at $299 per night. For more information and booking, visit jameshotels.com. Wondering what consumers are seeking in wellness travel? We’ve got a few answers here.
