Travelers can sail along the Danube this winter aboard Amawaterways alongside its co-owners Rudi Schreiner and Kristin Karst on the first-ever Founder’s Cruise.
Departing on November 17 and November 18, guests will have the choice to either join Schreiner, the company’s president and “godfather of river cruising” or Karst, the executive v.p. and advocate for Amawaterways’ Wellness Program on one of two sailings. Each will host their 7-night cruise, and the two will come together for one special evening on each other’s ship. During these sailings, guests will have the opportunity to get to know the leaders of AmaWayterways, experience their passion for river cruising, and hear about what’s coming up for the company. In addition, cruisers will get to listen to stories of the early days in river cruising from Schreiner, and learn about Karst’s journey of moving from her home country of Germany to the U.S. and getting into the travel industry.
Each Founder’s Cruise will sail the Danube Serenade itinerary, departing from the medieval city of Nuremberg, and cruising along the Danube River, while visiting cities and towns in Germany, Czech Republic, and Austria, and ending in Vienna, where the Christmas Markets will have just opened. As on all AmaWayterwasys ships, the festive season launches during the Thanksgiving week, and guests are invited to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving feast. In addition, guests on board these Founder’s Cruises will have the option to take part in Amawaterways’ Wellness Program, led by a Wellness Host. Besides king and biking excursions, guests can also participate in group fitness classes including stretching, core strengthening, and resistance band training. Informative lectures and discussions related to holistic wellness will also be scheduled.
