MSC Group’s Explora Journeys is spotlighting the Mediterranean’s early autumn gorgeousness with a series of voyages on EXPLORA I and EXPLORA II. The new itineraries, scheduled between now and Nov. 2025, invite your clients to experience a more tranquil Mediterranean, with quieter streets and a slower pace.
“The late Mediterranean season has an understated magic,” said Anna Nash, President of Explora Journeys. “It’s a time when destinations become their truest selves – when local rhythms return, the light takes on new depth and clarity, and travellers can connect with places and people on a richer, more authentic level. These Journeys unveil the region’s captivating beauty while providing the space and time to truly absorb it all.”
Falling for Explora Journeys
The late summer and early autumn itineraries present the Mediterranean in a new light—calmer and more intimate. With mild weather and fewer tourists, these itineraries give your clients an opportunity for in-depth exploration of celebrated destinations. They will experience the region’s authentic charm, from the Aegean’s coastlines to the French Riviera’s cultural scenes and the Canary Islands’ dramatic landscapes.
EXPLORA I focuses on the Eastern Mediterranean from September to October, with departures from iconic cities such as Athens, Istanbul and Barcelona. The ship’s route encompasses Greece and Türkiye, with stops at locations such as Katakolo, the gateway to ancient Olympia. Of note: the Oct. 2-8 itinerary departs from Antalya to Istanbul, visiting Paphos, Kusadasi and Mytilene.
EXPLORA II covers the Western Mediterranean, embarking from Barcelona, Civitavecchia (Rome), Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Lisbon. These voyages showcase the Riviera’s elegance and the distinctive cultures of Sicily and Sardinia. Destinations like Ibiza and Saint-Tropez reveal their off-season charm, while Trapani and Cagliari offer insights into local wines and traditions.
A highlighted itinerary from Oct. 6-13 sails from Barcelona to Rome, stopping at Monte Carlo, Saint-Tropez, Alghero, Ajaccio and Livorno. This route combines luxury experiences with cultural exploration, from Michelin-starred dining to discovering Napoleon’s birthplace in Corsica.
Later in the season, a voyage from Santa Cruz de Tenerife to Barcelona, running from Oct. 28 – Nov. 2 via Lanzarote and Cadiz, includes visits to Tenerife’s volcanic landscapes, Cadiz’s Moorish influences and Barcelona’s Gothic architecture.
