Viking has announced its entry into the Indian river cruise market with the launch of Viking Brahmaputra, a new 80-guest vessel set to debut in late 2027. Purpose-built for the Brahmaputra River, the ship will operate a 15-day itinerary titled Wonders of India, combining an 8-day river voyage with a fully guided land program through Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.

We are now delighted to introduce a new way for curious travelers to explore the heart of this phenomenal country, in-depth and in Viking comfort.”
New Vessel: Viking Brahmaputra
Currently under construction, Viking Brahmaputra will feature 40 outside staterooms with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors and verandas. Designed with Viking’s signature Scandinavian aesthetic, the three-deck ship will include a Spa & Fitness Center and an open-air Sky Bar on the Upper Deck.
The new round-trip itinerary from Delhi includes overnights in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, paired with a sailing between Guwahati and Nimati Ghat in the northeastern state of Assam. The cruise and land tour includes 13 guided excursions and access to up to 10 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Guests can visit the Taj Mahal, explore Old Delhi’s bustling streets, tour Jaipur’s Palace of Winds and observe wildlife like the one-horned rhinoceros in Kaziranga National Park. The itinerary also visits Majuli, one of the world’s largest river islands.
