ESPACIO The Hakone Geihinkan Rin-Poh-Ki-Ryu, Japan

A private cable car takes you through a tunnel of trees to the hotel.

The recently opened ESPACIO The Hakone Geihinkan Rin-Poh-Ki-Ryu has introduced a new level of luxury, privacy, design and world-class hospitality to Japan’s legendary mountain hot-springs destination of Hakone. Tucked into a pristine valley in the forested Miyanoshita region, the 9-suite retreat blends meticulous organic design with top-tier wellness programming and culinary excellence in a one-of-a-kind natural paradise.

ESPACIO The Hakone Geihinkan Rin-Poh-Ki-Ryu is the first concept in Asia from the creators of ESPACIO The Jewel of Waikiki, the Forbes five-star, AAA diamond-winning Hawaii property voted #1 in Honolulu by Conde Nast Traveler readers.

Raffles Jaipur

Living room of the Signature Suite.

Raffles Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of Raffles Jaipur, a majestic retreat that brings the brand’s gracious service, elegance, and enchanted glamour to one of India’s most vibrant destinations. Located a short drive away from the main attractions of the fabled ‘Pink City’ and encircled by the ancient Aravalli Hills, the new Raffles Jaipur is a modern-day re-creation of a palace, paying homage to the regal art of living.

Featuring 50 guestrooms and suites, each unique in layout and décor, Raffles Jaipur inspires and invites guests to connect with the local culture at every corner. Upon arrival, a Shikar tent evokes memories of Royal Mughal expeditions, and the hand-carved sandstone columns in the hotel’s courtyard—each carved from different eras of Rajasthani architecture—offer a peek into the glorious past. Unique to Raffles Jaipur, butlers will provide guests with curated healing rituals traditional to Rajasthani culture, including botanical infused bathing, health elixirs made from local spices, and specially developed plant-based ointments.

Dining experiences at Raffles Jaipur offer a modern interpretation of local gastronomy. Inspired by the primarily plant-based culinary tradition of the Zenana, or women’s quarters of the Mughal court, the dishes at Arkaa, the hotel’s specialty restaurant, celebrate the essence of the Progressive North Indian region using local ingredients sourced from nearby micro-farms. Traditional afternoon tea is served in Safir, while the rooftop bar Sehara serves Mediterranean-inspired dishes with an emphasis on Italian specialties.

Hotel Les Lumieres Versailles, France

The new 31-room Les Lumieres Versailles—once known as the Hôtel du France—has opened just steps from the renowned Chateau de Versailles. Recently inducted into Relais & Chateaux, the world’s leading luxury hotel and restaurant association, Les Lumieres melds historic features with contemporary luxury, and promises a transformative journey of cultural immersion and personal discovery.

The historic property was given to Edouard Colbert and Antoine III de Gramont by the ‘Sun King’ Louis the XIV. Located on the historic Gramont and Villacerf pavilions, which date from the 17th and 19th centuries, the property underwent an ambitious restoration project and now resonates with splendor and majesty. From the central library to monthly lectures to the journals thoughtfully provided in each room, the hotel is a testament to an enlightened era.

Les Lumieres also echoes the splendor of “Grand Versailles” and its gardens. Guests wander through corridors intoxicated by refreshing floral fragrances crafted by renowned Versailles candlemaker Trudon, founded in 1643 on the threshold of the reign of Louis XIV.

Among the dining experiences, Le Cafe Pierre Herme Paris transports visitors to a bygone era, with 20-foot-high ceilings and windows offering panoramic views of the Place d’Armes. Here, urban clamor dissipates, and a gourmet journey begins.
