Riviera River Cruises passengers can now extend their Burgundy, the River Rhone & Provence trip to include a visit to Lake Geneva and an exploration of the Swiss Alps.

While at Lake Geneva, guests will stay overnight in either Lausanne or Montreux, Switzerland. Tours will take in the lake by boat and visit the Chillon Castle. A trip to the Vaudois Alps via the Golden Pass train out of Gstaad includes a climb by cable car to a glacier.

The new Lake Geneva & Golden Pass extension also includes stops to see the canals and chateaux in Annecy, France.

“We’ve combined our popular Rhône and Saone river cruise with an extension that takes guests to the sparkling shores of Lake Geneva and the heights of the Alps,” said Marilyn Conroy, Riviera River Cruises’ executive vice president of sales and marketing for North America, in a press release. “Discover azure skies, reminders of the Roman Empire and Burgundy’s sublime wines on the cruise through the southeast of France, and chic lakeside towns, Mediterranean flavor and an incredible Alpine backdrop on the extension in Switzerland.”

The 11-day trip is available on select departure dates in 2022. It includes seven nights of cruise accommodations with all meals, three nights of hotel accommodations with breakfasts and one lunch, and 11 guided tours and visits. Bookings start at $4,048 per person based on double occupancy.

Without the extension, the Rhone and Saone river cruise is seven nights. The base itinerary features stops in Avignon and the Popes’ Palace, the Roman city of Arles, the Pont du Gard aqueduct, the Ardeche Gorges, Tournon, Vienne, Lyon, and a wine tasting in Beaune.

Riviera River Cruises recently discounted rates for summer 2022 sailings.
