In response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Windstar Cruises cancelled sailings and cruise tours in the Black Sea region and changed its Baltic itineraries to replace calls in St. Petersburg, Russia with calls in non-Russian ports.
Windstar’s Black Sea Sights & Turkish Delights sailing was scheduled to take place on two dates in 2022 (on May 7 and September 23), with calls on Odessa, Ukraine and Sochi, Russia among other Black Sea ports. Both dates have been changed to Turkey/Greece-centric sailings, with ports in Istanbul, Canakkale, Mykonos, Kusadasi, Bodrum, Santorini, Rhodes, Patmos, Lemnos, and Istanbul.
Replacing the Black Sea cruise is the 9-day Cultural Gems on the Azure Aegean: Turkey & Greece visiting Istanbul, Turkey to Istanbul, Turkey aboard Star Legend, which sets sail on May 7; and Sept. 23, 2022.
Windstar’s five 2022 Northern Europe sailing dates in the Baltic including St. Petersburg as a port have been adjusted to include time in an alternate, non-Russian port. (Windstar has no other port calls or cruises in Russia.)
Adjusted itineraries include the June 6, July 11, and July 26 sailings Scandinavian & Baltic Spectacular, with new ports in Sassnitz and Wismar, Germany; more time in Tallinn, Estonia; and additional time in Helsinki.
As well as the June 13 sailing Baltic Delights, with a new overnight stay in Helsinki, as well as a new port stop in Mariehamn—the only town of the Aland islands.
And the August 2 itinerary Beauty of the Baltic & Kiel Canal, which will offer guests more time in Helsinki with a later departure, as well as more time in Tallinn, Estonia, and new ports in Sassnitz and Wismar, Germany.
