Posadas began reopening its resorts in Mexico on June 8, with extensive new hygiene protocols in place, and will open its first Caribbean property in the Dominican Republic later this year.

“We want to bring people back, but we want to bring them back safely, so they can rest assured that they are going to come to our resorts and have an amazing experience,” says David Manzella, senior v.p. of sales & marketing, Fiesta Americana Hotels & Resorts / Posadas. “Our staff is welcoming them back safely, and that means putting them at ease utilizing our Travel with Confidence protocols, and the various outside companies we’re partnering with for these health and safety certifications, so they know they have the best of the best. From the moment they walk in, to the moment they leave, their safety is priority number one.”

In order to protect guests during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Posadas developed the Travel With Confidence program with 3M. The program covers five pillars of health and safety, including check-in and check-out; accommodations and guestrooms; food and beverage; public spaces, communal areas and meeting spaces; and pools and beaches.

The new protocols include temperature checks, hygiene kits for guests, cleaning with electrostatic mist, and ensuring that check-in is a contactless experience. Natural and organic barriers have also been utilized at the resorts to ensure physical distancing, such as separating lounge chairs and cabanas with tree walls.

“Food and beverage is one of the pillars of our health and safety protocols and we are taking that very seriously,” says Manzella. “Buffets allow for a more individual experience, and our food and beverage is delivered with as limited touch-points as possible. Restaurants have a limited capacity, and offer a more elegant, elevated experience.”

The New Live Aqua Beach Resort Punta Cana
Posadas is also set to open its first resort in the Caribbean on Nov. 1 of this year. The Live Aqua Beach Resort Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic will offer 340 guestrooms, and is located just 40 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes from the city-center.

Dining options will include seven local and international cuisine restaurants, as well as the more casual Oceanside Beach Club and Beach Bar. The resort also offers a volleyball court, soccer field, and a collection of pools that span 96,875 sq. ft., including an infinity pool with sweeping ocean views, as well as the Feel Spa by Spa Live Aqua.

The resort’s suites, available in seven categories, will offer views of the ocean, gardens or swimming pools. Among the most exclusive options will be select Junior Suites with swim-up access from main swimming pools. Other suites will offer complete exclusivity with private swimming pools and terraces. All suites will have all the essentials such as expansive, fully equipped bathrooms with soaking tubs, interactive 50-inch flat-screen TVs, espresso machines, aromatherapy and pillow menus, and more.
