New Luxe Suites for Venice Simplon-Orient-Express

This is the stuff that dreams are made of: The legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, A Belmond Train, Europe, will be sporting eight new suites come June 2023. A night in one of these ultra-luxe accommodations will start at EUR 5,500 per person (approximately US$5,608, at press time).

The suites will blend iconic history with modern creature comforts and include a private marble ensuite bathroom and a spacious lounge area that transforms at night into either one double or two twin beds. As befits the train’s white glove service, travelers will enjoy the services of a personal 24-hour cabin steward and a complimentary kimono and slippers.

Two original 1920s and 30s carriages are being retrofitted to accommodate just four suites each. The French craftsmen and designers have been directed to take their inspiration from the European landscapes through which the train passes: La Campagne (the countryside), Les Montagnes (the mountains), Les Lacs (the lakes) and La Foret (the forest). The interiors will be plush and ultra-luxurious, channeling the cream of the crop of the Art Deco designers.

The new suites will complement the two existing cabin categories, Historic Cabins and Grand Suites. The former can quickly transform from a daytime lounge into cozy upper and lower beds at night. The latter honor their name by offering grand luxury with private ensuite bathrooms with showers, double beds, and a living area with underfloor heating for private dining. The Grand Suites also include 24-hour cabin service, endless champagne and private transfers to and from the train.

From March to November, Venice Simplon-Orient-Express travels through Europe with routes through the Czech Republic (Prague), France (Paris and Cannes), Italy (Florence, Venice, Rome and Verona), Austria (Vienna and Innsbruck), Hungary (Budapest), Romania (Bucharest), Switzerland (Geneva), Belgium (Brussels) and the Netherlands (Amsterdam), as well as the signature route from Paris to Istanbul once a year.
