If your clients say that they’ve already “been there, done that” when you mention a Colosseum tour, Hornblower Group has a brand new reason for them to book another look when in Rome. The company recently announced its reimagined Underground Colosseum experience, carefully calibrated to knock their collective socks off—and it includes access to one of the most exclusive parts of the Colosseum.

Hornblower Group Brings History to Life

This isn’t just any old historical tour—this is one for the books. The partnership with PArCo has created an exhibition and multimedia installation that will sweep your clients back in time—about 2,000 years’ worth of time—to when Ancient Rome was brand new, bringing to life the gladiators as they passed from the tunnel that connected Ludus Magnus. How? Thanks to the magic of holographic projections, guests can literally see them walking on the original floor of the cryptoporticus on their way to the Arena in their colorful armor, see them in the training gym and watch them strut out to the acclaim of more than 50 thousand spectators. All the while accompanied by a local expert guide sharing details on the seating arrangements from the emperor’s seat down, and tales of the beasts, the men and the intricated staging machinery that created this ancient spectacle. Please note this is a small group tour.

The exhibition also includes a curated collection of armor, plus original artifacts and weapons from the collections of the Parco Archeologico del Colosseo, the National Archaeological Museum in Naples and the National Archaeological Museum in Aquileia.

Walks is part of Hornblower Group’s portfolio under its City Experiences brand and was one of the first tour operators to partner with the Colosseum.
