November 7–8: Welcome to Kigali
Begin the FAM with an overnight stay at the Kigali Serena Hotel. Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport (KGL), you’ll be greeted and assisted through entry formalities before meeting your driver and guide. Spend the following morning exploring Kigali, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial and site inspections of key properties. In the afternoon, transfer to Akagera National Park for dinner and a night game drive.
November 8–11: Wildlife at Akagera National Park
Stay three nights at Akagera Game Lodge. Activities include thrilling game drives, a scenic boat safari on Lake Ihema and property tours such as the Magashi Tented Camp. Along the way, witness Akagera’s remarkable wildlife, including elephants, giraffes and hippos.
November 11–14: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
The journey continues with a transfer to Virunga Lodge, offering views of the Volcanoes National Park region. A highlight of this leg is gorilla and golden monkey trekking and a visit to the EDG Campus for a community project.
November 14: Farewell in Kigali
Conclude your FAM with a transfer back to Kigali, complete with packed lunches for your convenience. Depending on your flight schedule, you’ll have time to explore more of the city with your guide before departing from KGL.
