In a recent consumer study conducted by ALG Vacations, Americans’ confidence in travel advisors skyrocketed to the 90th percentile, while the value of recommendations from family and friends hit single digits.

ALG Vacations wants to celebrate the agencies, suppliers and destinations that strive to bring personal and professional service to their clients through a new yearlong program, “The Year of the Travel Advisor (YOTTA),” which emphasizes the position, importance, visibility and value of the agent community. Highlights of “The Year of the Travel Advisor” (#YOTTA2021) include:

  • MerchMadness: With a winner every weekday in March and two on Travel Tuesdays, advisors are entered to win a prize for every booking within the ALG Vacations’ family of brands. Every booking yields an automatic entry to win business-building prizes such as Apple Watches, iPads, vlogging kits, cameras, and more.
  • Travel Advisor Panel: As we collectively rebuild, the travel industry has a rare opportunity to build a new normal designed around the needs and goals of the travel advisor community. ALG Vacations is recruiting an elite panel of agents to commit to a series of surveys, polls, and quizzes to ensure that the future we’re shaping is the one youwant. Panel members will be eligible for bonus WAVES points, trip giveaways and more. Plus, panelists will have access to resultant data for more valuable insight to help guide future strategy.
  • Year of the Travel Advisor Store: ALG Vacations is opening an online merchandise shop for travel agents to broadcast their participation in the Year of the Travel Advisor. On the shelves will be shirts, clings, water bottles, and more branded with the Year of the Travel Advisor logo.
  • Custom Content: This includes everything from user-generated videos that clearly explain in-destination safety protocols in action, to digestible videos about ALG Vacations’ flexible policies.
