Alaska Airlines is working hard on keeping the two coasts connected, adding daily nonstop flights between San Diego and Washington, D.C. (IAD) and Tampa (TPA). An additional daily nonstop flight is also being added between San Diego and Eugene, Oregon (EUG).

“Our guests in San Diego asked for more nonstops to the East Coast and we’re excited to add service to both the nation’s capital and to Florida’s vibrant Gulf Coast,” said Neil Thwaites, regional vice president of California for Alaska Airlines, in a press statement. “With convenient daytime schedules, award-winning service and a premium product offering, guests will arrive refreshed and ready-to-go.”

Details on the New Alaska Airlines Flights

The nonstop San Diego-Washington D.C. flight that begins on June 15, 2023, departs daily at 8:00 a.m., arriving at 4:10 p.m. The flight from Washington leaves at 10:15 a.m. daily, arriving in San Diego at 12:30 p.m. The daily nonstop Tampa flight starts on Oct. 15, 2023, departing San Diego at 8:40 a.m. and landing at 4:25 p.m. The Tampa flight back departs at 5:30 p.m., landing back in San Diego at 7:40 p.m. The San Diego-Eugene nonstop daily service also begins on June 15, 2023, departing California at 2:30 p.m. and landing in Eugene at 4:50 p.m.; the flight from Eugene leaves at 11:30 a.m. and lands in San Diego at 1:50 p.m. (All times are local.)

The new nonstop flights from San Diego to Washington, D.C. and Tampa are aboard 737-9 aircraft offering First Class, Premium and Economy seats, while the Eugene, Oregon flights are aboard E175s. The new routes bring the number of nonstop destinations served from San Diego to 35, which include Mexico and Hawaii. Alaska Airlines is a member of the oneworld global alliance.
