In a move that is in line with Royal Caribbean’s “loyal to you always” catchphrase, the cruise line has made changes to the structure of its commissions distribution, which will benefit a travel agent whose clients redeem Future Cruise Certificates.

In late 2017, when the damage from Hurricanes Maria and Irma forced many would-be cruisers to change their vacation plans, Royal Caribbean protected the full value of commissions on bookings, which included the redemption of a hurricane-related Future Cruise Certificate. Now, the cruise line has decided to make this a permanent policy. Effective April 1, 2018, should a travel agent’s client redeem a Future Cruise Certificate, he or she will receive the full value of that booking’s commission.

“For the last 10 years, you have supported Royal Caribbean,” said Vicki Freed, CTC
SVP sales and trade support & service, Royal Caribbean International, in an email to travel agents. “We hope this decision is a further testament to our commitment to your success.”
