Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is expanding into the Mexican State of Baja California Sur and its capital city La Paz with Fairmont La Paz Puerta Cortes Resort and Residences, which is scheduled to debut in 2023.
Fairmont La Paz Puerta Cortes Resort and Residences will be located within the exclusive Puerta Cortes resort community, which is set on 550 acres of environmentally protected coastal lands and includes access to luxury amenities including a world-class marina and Mexico’s only Gary Player Signature Course – El Cortes Golf Club.

Fairmont La Paz Puerta Cortes will offer travelers a beachfront retreat featuring 155 guestrooms and 24 suites, with select accommodations equipped with plunge pools; four food and beverage outlets, including several beachfront dining venues; three outdoor pools; and a Wellness Village that includes a luxurious spa and various fitness offerings.
Other recently opened properties under the Accor brand include Sofitel Mexico City Reforma, which opened at the end of 2019; Fairmont El San Juan Hotel in Puerto Rico, which made its debut as a Fairmont hotel in January 2020; the addition of Berkeley Park Hotel Miami to the MGallery Hotel Collection in April 2021; and most recently, the opening of Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles in September 2021. In addition, more openings in the region include Fairmont Costa Canuva on Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit and Raffles Boston Back Bay Hotel & Residences in 2022.
