Victory Cruise Lines has announced British Columbia and Alaska itineraries for its new ship M/V Ocean Victory, set to debut in May 2021.

The cruise line, operated by American Queen Steamboat Company, has unveiled details of its new 200-passenger M/V Ocean Victory. The ship will feature 93 suites, of which, 68 will have balconies, nine with French balconies and 16 with panoramic windows. It will also carry a crew of 100 and feature a 2-to-1 guest to crew ratio. Onboard amenities include two restaurants, an open-deck dining area, piano bar, library, gym, heated outdoor pool, spa and jacuzzi.

The M/V Ocean Victory will be equipped with 20 zodiacs and dozens of kayaks in order to provide guests with in-depth explorations of Alaska’s natural, historic and cultural treasures. Victory Cruise Line has partnered with California Polytechnic State University to include marine biologists, scientists and naturalists among its expedition team of 19 who will lead excursions, provide education lectures and act as a resource for all guests. The new ship’s inaugural season will begin in May 2021 with a 10-night sailing from Vancouver, B.C. to Sitka, Alaska; and an 11-night sailing from Sitka, Alaska to Vancouver, B.C.

Highlights of these new Discover Beyond ™ Alaska Expedition Adventure Cruise itineraries include a visit to Fjordland, one the newest Canadian marine parks packed with wildlife visible along the shoreline, including wolves, eagles, deer and bears. Itineraries also visit Ketchikan, a colorful port known as the “King Salmon Capital of the World”; and Metlakatla, home to the Tsimshian people whose complex culture dates back thousands of years. Guests will experience a private visit to a Tsimshian Long House for a welcoming performance of traditional dance, and will discover the community’s art, totem poles, canoes and intricate cedar bark baskets.

Other experiences include a visit to the Misty Fjords National Monument, frequently draped in mist and fog, and a haven for bears, whales, sea lions and hundreds of sea and shorebirds. Plus a visit to Baranoff Island’s eastern coast where expert naturalist guides will take guests exploring by ship, kayak and zodiac craft.
