Luxury cruise line Seabourn has officially taken delivery of its second ultra-luxury expedition ship, Seabourn Pursuit, today during a handover maritime ceremony held onboard the ship docked at the T. Mariotti shipyard in Genoa, Italy. Recommend was present at the event attended by the top officials from Seabourn and T. Mariotti, among them, Seabourn president Natalya Leahy, who took over the line earlier this year, Marco Ghiglione, managing director for T. Mariotti, and hospitality design master Adam D. Tihany, who is responsible for every facet of Seabourn expedition ships’ exquisite interior design.

“Seabourn Pursuit is an embodiment of elegance and luxury. A perfect vision and fusion of the well-known Seabourn signature ultra-luxury experience and the awe-inspiring world of expedition,” said Leahy during the ceremony, where she made it a point to thank everyone who had a hand in bringing their vision to life. “From the moment you step on board, and I hope all of you will experience it today, you will be transported to a world where luxury meets adventure, where every detail has been meticulously designed to exceed your wildest dreams and expectations.”

“This ship will host over 7,000 guests just next year alone. She is a testament to our guests, who are very extraordinary people looking for very out-of-ordinary experiences,” Leahy continued. “Seabourn Pursuit is a ship that [makes] their dreams come true. It’s their passport to countless unforgettable Seabourn Moments and breathtaking encounters to the most remote, most beautiful destinations and wonders of our world. Closer and deeper. Places that very few will ever experience in a lifetime. It’s a ship built with their desires and dreams in mind.”

Seabourn Pursuit, the Suite Life

Seabourn Pursuit offers your clients an exceptional small-ship experience with world-class design, white-glove service and gourmet cuisine. The vessel’s 132 oceanfront suites span 12 categories, and every one of them has a private, ocean-view veranda. All have living areas, queen or two twin beds, walk-in closets, interactive TVs, full-stocked bars and refrigerators, a makeup vanity, a writing desk with personalized stationery and a very unique extra: a built-in heated jacket cabinet to dry off and heat up your client’s parkas and boots after a day out on the ice fields, and radiant heated floors to ward off any errant chills. Above and beyond accommodations include the two-level, 1,399-sq-ft Grand Wintergarden Suites on decks 7 and 8 and the 1,377-sq-ft Signature Suites at the vessel’s stern.

The PC6 Polar Class Seabourn Pursuit is outfitted with two submarines, 24 Zodiacs, kayaks, scuba diving equipment and a 24-person expedition team of scientists, naturalists, scholars and more to take your clients on next-level adventures. Its massive indoor/outdoor guest areas with floor-to-ceiling windows are made for “bringing in the world,” and a special 4K GSS Cineflex Camera mounted on the mast to broadcast images of wildlife from up to two miles away on monitors throughout the ship and in the guest suites in real-time.

Seabourn Pursuit will enter into service on Aug. 12, 2023, departing from Malta for a five-voyage season in the Mediterranean before heading across the Atlantic to the Caribbean. Expedition journeys begin in October 2023 through coastal South America, the Amazon and Antarctica into late March 2024, after which it will head across the South Pacific to Australia, where it will embark on an amazing season of exploration of the Kimberley region in the Northern Territory and Western Australia.
