With the summer travel season heating up and customer demand on the rise, MSC Cruises is adding another ship, MSC Bellissima, to its Mediterranean summer program. The latest addition means that a record 15 ships in the company’s fleet will be sailing in the region this summer.
MSC Bellissima is currently sailing around the Middle East, but from July 9th it will offer 7-night voyages from the Spanish ports of Valencia and Barcelona/Tarragona (prices starting at $329 per person, excluding taxes), along with the Italian ports of Genoa, Livorno and Naples (prices starting at $299 per person, excluding taxes). The itinerary allows for longer stays in Valencia so guests can visit Madrid, as well as extended stays in Barcelona/Tarragona and Genoa.
Investments in onboard experiences, including more staff, improved dining options and more entertainment options, “is paying off with high ratings from recurring and new guests,” said
Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises, in a press statement. “This led us to position one additional ship in the Mediterranean—a popular destination—to give our guests even more choice of ships and itineraries.”
A 5,655-passenger Meraviglia class ship, MSC Bellissima has 12 restaurants, more than 20 bars, a dedicated family deck, a state-of-the-art theater for shows, 10 different types of staterooms as well as premium suites and private facilities offered through the MSC Yacht Club.
Culinary delights on MSC World Europa
Meanwhile, MSC Cruises has also announced that its new ship MSC World Europa, which is making its debut in the Arabian Gulf in December, will feature 13 restaurants and 20 bars with globally inspired, seasonal menus.
Sustainably-sourced, fresh, farm-to-ocean ingredients feature heavily in the food and drink offerings on board MSC World Europa. Passengers can dine on fresh seafood displayed in a fish market-like setting where guests can select their fish to be prepared, enjoy a burger and pizza while playing family-friendly games or opt for one of the healthy dishes from the Chef’s Garden Kitchen that includes hydroponic microgreens grown and harvested on board. Those looking for a pre-meal drink can try a selection of craft beers produced in the on-site microbrewery or sample one of the 70 craft gins available at The Gin Project.
MSC World Europa will offer 3-, 7-, and 9-night cruises from Dubai starting in December before heading to the Mediterranean in March 2023, where she will offer cruises calling at Genoa, Naples, Messina, Valletta, Barcelona and Marseille.
