Grand Prix Plaza, North America’s largest Formula 1 fan experience, will reopen Jan. 30 with its redesigned 20,000-square-foot F1 X interactive exhibition at the site of the FORMULA 1 HEINEKEN LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX. The upgraded attraction has revamped its 4D Theater and expanded galleries and interactive design spaces that bring together Formula 1’s technology, innovation and history.

“F1 X is designed to bring fans into every aspect of Formula 1—from its rich heritage and innovation to the teamwork, strategy and adrenaline that define the sport,” said Benjamin Larvie, General Manager, in a press statement. “It is a bold, experiential showcase of the innovation at the heart of our sport and marks Grand Prix Plaza as a must-visit destination for fans both in Las Vegas and beyond.”

Las Vegas: Bigger, Better, Faster Entertainment

At the center is the new 4D Theater, powered by Liminal Space’s proprietary Ghost Tile stereoscopic LED technology. The system uses holographic visuals, motion seating, sound effects and other sensory details from MediaMation Entertainment to give visitors the sense of being inside a race. The experience incorporates lightweight glasses to deliver cinematic-quality 3D without visual distortion.

The updated F1 X is structured across several themed areas. Visitors begin with a personalized Pit Pass, creating a custom driver profile and team identity. Inside the “ETC,” modeled after Formula 1’s technology-driven broadcast center, they enter a re-creation of the control hub where live race feeds are managed. This includes interactive displays and holographic appearances by special guests.

The “Legacy of Formula 1” gallery traces the sport’s evolution through historic cars, artifacts and replicas. Noteworthy vehicles from The Petersen Automotive Museum include the 1987 Lotus 99T, the 1994 Williams FW15D and the 1999 Ferrari F399—each tied to legendary drivers like Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher and Damon Hill. At the F1 Factory, exhibits detail the mechanical and design advancements behind modern cars, featuring replicas such as a 2023 Aston Martin front wing, a 2024 Williams steering wheel and a 2024 McLaren MCL38.

The Design Studio allows participants to create their own Formula 1 car using digital tools, selecting color, pattern and livery before seeing it projected onto a full-size model for photos. The Helmet Design and Driver Transformation stations offer another layer of interactivity, where guests create racing helmets and see themselves as drivers through augmented mirrors.

Hands-on experiences continue with the Pit Wall Experience and Pit Stop Challenge. The Pit Wall station simulates the strategic decision-making of a race control room, while the centrally placed Pit Stop Challenge lets teams change tires and lift a full-scale F1 car using authentic tools. The circuit experience builds toward the Cool Down Room and podium photo area, followed by the final Livery Reveal room, visible from the F1 HUB Lounge.

Grand Prix Plaza spans 39 acres and also includes F1 DRIVE, a karting experience on part of the Las Vegas Strip Circuit, and F1 HUB with simulators, dining and retail. Event spaces such as Turn 1 Lounge, Cool Down Room and GPP Garage are available on three levels and the rooftop. Hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. F1 X will close Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Tickets for F1 X start at $59, with special pricing available for locals, military personnel, children and seniors, and will go on sale online in the coming weeks.
