The newest offering at Grand Velas Riviera Maya takes guests behind the scenes of the kitchen that services the resort’s eight restaurants, room service, pool and VIP food amenities, weddings, banquets and more. The tour is given once a week on Thursdays at 11 a.m.

Guests will see everything from the making of chocolate bonbons in the special chocolate room where 60 different kinds of breads and 80 different pastries are created and baked, to juicing 2,000 pounds of fresh fruit and vegetables for daily juices, and preparation of all the staples of Mexican cuisine in the Grand Velas Riviera Maya kitchen. Other areas visited include the butcher shop and commissary. This isn’t the only culinary-themed activity at the resort. There are also cooking classes, wine tastings and food tours.
