Virgin Voyages is rapidly expanding its use of artificial intelligence across the business, growing its fleet of internal AI agents from just 50 to more than 1,500 in less than four months.
The program, developed through a partnership with Google Cloud, is powered by the Gemini Enterprise platform and supports departments across marketing, revenue management, sales, crew training, commercial operations and Sailor Services.
According to the cruise line, the AI initiative is designed to streamline operations, enhance personalization and free employees to focus on delivering better onboard experiences for guests — referred to as “Sailors.”
AI Agents Supporting Marketing, Sales and Guest Services
Virgin Voyages’ growing network of AI tools includes several specialized agents designed to support key areas of the business.
Among them is Email Ellie, an AI marketing assistant trained on the brand’s distinct voice that helps generate communications and promotional campaigns. Another system, Know Your Sailors, analyzes guest data to provide deeper insights into traveler preferences. Then there’s WaveMaker, which streamlines group booking management, enabling faster response times and improved service for clients.
“Our commitment to becoming AI-fluent is so we can grow, win the hearts and minds of our Sailors, and use tools and technology to create joy — removing the burden of mind-numbing, repetitive work,” said Nirmal Saverimuttu, CEO of Virgin Voyages, in a press statement.
Driving Efficiency and Revenue Growth
Virgin Voyages says the technology rollout is already producing measurable results across the organization. Content production time has dropped by an average of 60 percent while promotional campaign output has doubled without additional cost. The company also reported record sales and revenue growth in early 2026, along with improved Sailor satisfaction scores.
The cruise line expects full adoption of the Gemini Enterprise platform across the organization by the end of the second quarter of 2026.
