MSC Cruises has officially opened the doors to the world’s largest and most advanced cruise terminal at PortMiami, marking a milestone moment in cruise infrastructure. Designed by Arquitectonica and constructed by Fincantieri Infrastructure, the new MSC Miami Cruise Terminal spans nearly 500,000 square feet and is capable of processing up to 36,000 passengers per day.

New Facility Redefines Embarkation

Built with a guest-first approach, the four-level terminal delivers a seamless embarkation experience—anchored by a complete biometric journey that uses facial recognition and digital identity verification. Guests who check in online via the MSC for Me app or website can upload documents in advance and breeze through boarding using biometric technology.

The terminal also includes a six-story parking garage with over 2,400 spaces, luggage drop-off directly from the garage and a dedicated covered arrival zone for buses, taxis and rideshares. MSC Yacht Club guests receive elevated perks including access to a private lounge with premium refreshments and curated artwork.

Set to become the new homeport for both MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys ships, the terminal will also host the naming ceremony for MSC Cruises’ newest flagship, MSC World America, on April 9 before she begins her inaugural Caribbean season.

Inside the terminal, travelers will find seven commissioned artworks, including a show-stopping 10,816-square-foot digital projection on the building’s facade. This first-of-its-kind installation uses real-time NOAA oceanic data to display shifting tides and currents, uniquely blending art and science.
