cititzenM: Boston Takeover
citizenM recently opened its second property in Boston: citizenM Boston Back Bay.
The latest addition to citizenM’s portfolio is in Boston’s historic Back Bay neighborhood, within the Lyrik mixed-use development project. The 15-story property is now the brand’s largest, offering 399 guestrooms.
The new Boston property at 408 Newbury Street joins citizenM’s expanding U.S. portfolio, which includes locations in New York, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington D.C., Chicago, Miami, Menlo Park, Austin and more globally.
“We are thrilled to open the doors to our second Boston location, and what will be the largest hotel in our global portfolio,” said Robin Chadha, Chief Brand Officer, in a press statement. “Boston is known for its creative expression and captivating stories, and likewise citizenM will spotlight locally-inspired works of art and exciting opening campaigns with Boston citizens at the forefront. The Back Bay neighborhood is a historic area, featuring delicious eateries and bustling small businesses—we are excited to become part of this community and the Lyrik development.”
This opening is part of citizenM’s broader expansion strategy in the U.S., aimed at providing its modern, lifestyle-focused accommodations in key travel hubs. citizenM Boston Back Bay is the 36th hotel in the brand’s collection.
Just steps away from Boston’s Fenway Park, citizenM Boston Back Bay features the brand’s signature canteenM serving all-day, all-night snacks and drinks and its 24/7 gym. The hotel’s signature rooms include an XL king-size, wall-to-wall bed, a 4K-widescreen TV and WiFi. The room ambiance is fully controlled by an in-room iPad—the blinds, climate, TV and room lights with changeable colors—or via the citizenM app.
To enhance the guest experience, citizenM offers its membership program, mycitizenM+. For a monthly fee, members receive benefits such as 15% off room rates, free late checkout and complimentary upgrades to premium view rooms (based on availability). Additional perks include access to free coworking spaces at any citizenM hotel, 15% off meeting rooms, food and beverage discounts, and early access to promotions and exclusive events.
