Atlas Ocean Voyages Elevates Antarctica Expeditions

 
 

Atlas Ocean Voyages has officially launched its 2024-2025 Antarctica season, deploying three vessels—each with a team of 17 polar expedition experts. These seasoned guides, including naturalists, geologists, marine biologists and historians, offer guests an immersive experience through expert-led lectures, guided Zodiac excursions and onshore explorations.

Atlas aims to create meaningful connections for guests with Antarctica’s pristine environment, led by dedicated expedition leaders and knowledgeable specialists on each voyage.

World Voyager – Expedition Leader Aaron Strahlke, with a background in geology and a passion for polar exploration, leads a team of specialists, including Kayak Master Gabriele Lamartina and naturalists Gino Pereira and Carlos Segura, offering guests hands-on learning and discovery.

World Navigator – Expedition Leader Jonathan Zaccaria, a veteran polar explorer with over 170 Antarctic expeditions, guides a skilled team that includes ornithologist Janel Saydam and marine biologist Louisa Mooij, who bring in-depth scientific insights to each journey.

World Traveller – Led by Ph.D. environmental scientist Ekaterina Uruypova (Katya), the team features ornithologist Maria Borodavkina, polar meteorologist Sasha Zulas and kayaking experts, ensuring an informative and adventurous exploration of Antarctica’s unique landscapes.

Each Atlas Antarctic expedition includes:

  • A pre-expedition hotel night and private charter jet from Buenos Aires or Punta Arenas
  • A Cultural Immersion tour with local dining experiences
  • The Polar Plunge, a complimentary parka and an eco-friendly water bottle

Guests may also choose optional activities like overnight camping on the Antarctic continent and kayaking excursions. Limited availability remains for this season, with select expeditions offering a 10% savings.
