Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has announced an exciting addition to its first-ever Women-Only Cruise. Rachel Dratch, award-winning actor, comedian and author, will join the brand’s first-ever, women-only sailing. This exclusive voyage will unite women across generations to experience curated onboard activities, exclusive excursions and special guest appearances—all designed to inspire and connect.
Setting sail on August 24, 2025, Dratch is best known for her tenure on NBC’s Saturday Night Live. She will treat cruise guests to a special comedy set and Q&A onboard the S.S. Catherine while they journey through the heart of France.
“We are beyond excited to welcome the incredibly talented and hilarious Rachel Dratch aboard our special Women-Only Cruise,” says Ellen Bettridge, President and CEO of Uniworld, in a press statement. “This cruise is all about bringing women together to share new experiences, create friendships and enjoy plenty of laughter along the way. Rachel is the perfect fit for what promises to be an unforgettable trip, and I’m looking forward to being onboard to host her and all of our guests on this sailing.”
The first-ever Women’s Only Cruise will set sail on Aug. 24, 2025, for the Burgundy and Provence itinerary. This special voyage is designed to connect women through unique experiences, such as truffle hunting, onboard workshops led by local artisans, a bike ride to the Chartreuse, lavender weaving, burlesque sessions and a decadent chocolate and wine pairing experience.
Immersive Experiences For Uniworld Travelers
For music lovers, the Music of the Danube cruise will offer a series of musically themed experiences on Aug. 3 and Nov. 2 aboard the Enchanting Danube itinerary. Highlights of this journey include a yodeling workshop, a “Sound of Music” tour in Salzburg, an organ concert at Abbey Dürnstein and an exclusive Mozart and Strauss concert.
Golf enthusiasts can also enjoy an all-inclusive Premium Golf package on the Brilliant Bordeaux itinerary, available on six summer sailings. This add-on includes 18-hole rounds at Cabot Bordeaux and St. Emilion, shared caddy service, gourmet dining with beverages and surprise gifts.
Other Returning Specialty Cruises
Uniworld is bringing back some of its specialty cruises with new dates in 2025. The Generations Collection offers family river cruises ideal for multi-generational families with children ages 4-17 years. Conveniently planned around school breaks, these sailings will be available on select itineraries in Europe along the Rhine and Danube Rivers in Summer 2025, as well as in Egypt in Dec. 2025.
The cruise features an impressive array of activities and amenities tailored specifically for children, including dessert-making sessions with the pastry chef, active and educational shore excursions, crafting workshops, local language classes and a VIP tour of the ship. Additionally, the ships boast a young travelers’ lounge and game room, complete with a PlayStation, games, movies, and local treats.
Meanwhile, Out on the Rivers will return with an exclusive trip aboard the Classic Christmas Markets itinerary, departing on Dec. 8, 2025. This special sailing is designed for the LGBTQ+ community and features unique programming such as LGBTQ+ performers, dance parties, themed events and more.
Uniworld will offer Jewish Heritage Sailings on select sailings of both the Delightful Danube & Prague and Remarkable Rhine & Historic Holland itineraries in 2025. These sailings will include visits to museums, memorials and synagogues, focusing on cross-cultural experiences for those exploring their roots and anyone seeking an immersive journey through a vital part of European history. Uniworld first launched its Jewish Heritage Sailings in 2017 to pay homage to the 2,000-year-old history of Jewish people in Europe.
