The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection celebrated the keel-laying of its second luxury superyacht this week, expected to start welcoming guests in 2024. Happening in the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, this maritime tradition marks the start of construction for Ilma, which at 790 feet will accommodate 228 suites and up to 456 passengers. Reservations are already open.

“We are thrilled to celebrate this important milestone and to partner with Chantiers de l’Atlantique on the construction of Ilma,” commented Douglas Prothero, Chief Executive Officer for The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, in a press statement. “As we expand our fleet, we look forward to continuing to create unique experiences that celebrate the yachting lifestyle and are transforming the luxury cruising category.”

Ilma—which means “water” in Maltese—is the second of three superyachts for The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection and is designed to offer your most demanding clients the highest space and staff-to-guest ratios in its category. They can look forward to five restaurants, six bars and a wine vault, plus the aft Marina where they can enjoy their meals alfresco while they watch the waves go by or hop onto their favorite watersport craft right from the ship. The brand is renowned for its service—think onboard personal concierge, 24-hour in-suite service, complimentary champagne and more—clients loyal to the brand will find the same level of personalized attention and comfort they’ve enjoyed in the hotels. This second superyacht is the first of the collection to use liquefied natural gas (LNG) for fuel.

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s first superyacht, Evrima, was built in 2021 and has a capacity for only 298 guests in its 149 luxury suites, all with private terraces. Evrima boasts five restaurants and six lounges, as well as the aft Marina for watersports.

Of note: The superyachts are available for private charter. The Ritz-Carlton is part of Marriott Bonvoy, meaning your clients can redeem and earn points during their cruise.
