SeaWorld Orlando might be in the middle of the Florida tropics, but that’s not stopping it from announcing the chilly new Penguin Trek, set to debut in Spring 2024. This is the eighth roller coaster for the so-called “Coaster Capital of Orlando” and features snowmobile-style cars that will take the family through the wilds of Antarctica on a penguin research mission.
“We are incredibly excited to unveil our newest addition to SeaWorld Orlando’s outstanding coaster lineup in Spring of 2024,” said Jon Peterson, president of SeaWorld Orlando, in a press statement. “This family launch coaster embodies the spirit of adventure and exploration, offering an immersive journey through the wonders of Antarctica while further connecting our mission and commitment to our animal care, education and research. We know our guests were ready for a new thrill that the whole family could enjoy, and we’re excited to redefine the family launch coaster experience alongside our longstanding partners at B&M.”
SeaWorld Orlando’s Latest and Greatest Coaster
Penguin Trek will feature two launches and plenty of twists and turns, with the “snowmobiles” reaching speeds of up to 43 mph across a 3,020-ft track that hurtles them indoors and out. They’ll dodge falling ice, escape an ice cave and move through other adventures until they reach the best part: the grand finale, where guests will find themselves in SeaWorld Orlando’s very own penguin habitat.
Of note: 2024 Annual Pass members get to ride before the general public does—tickets are on sale now.
