Journey Beyond is expanding its reach beyond Australia, announcing its first international acquisition. Set to finalize in September, the move is bringing New Zealand’s Grand Pacific Tours into its portfolio.
“We are excited to welcome Grand Pacific Tours to Journey Beyond’s growing portfolio of iconic brands and experiences. This marks an exciting next phase of growth for us—further expanding our offerings of immersive, authentic and unique tourism experiences into New Zealand,” said Chris Tallent, Journey Beyond CEO, in a press statement.
“With a commitment to delivering unforgettable journeys, Journey Beyond looks forward to building on the incredible work of Grand Pacific’s founder Peter Harding and his team in this breathtaking and experience rich country. Get ready for an exciting new chapter in experiential travel as Journey Beyond invites explorers to discover New Zealand like never before.”
Going Beyond
Grand Pacific Tours, established in 1996, has built a reputation as New Zealand’s leading bus touring company. This move aligns with Journey Beyond’s mission to offer exceptional travel experiences, complementing its existing Australian offerings such as overnight rail tours on The Ghan, Indian Pacific and Great Southern, as well as premium small-group outback excursions through Outback Spirit.
What sets Grand Pacific Tours apart is its dual approach to bus travel. The Ultimate Small Group Tours cater to discerning travelers, utilizing business-class buses that accommodate up to 20 passengers for an intimate exploration of New Zealand’s highlights. For those seeking a balance of comfort and value, the Signature Mid-Size group tours accommodate 32 passengers in custom-designed buses, offering a premium economy experience.
The upcoming season features over 230 departures, each with curated itineraries that showcase New Zealand’s must-see attractions and experiences. These fully inclusive tours provide comprehensive coverage of the country’s diverse landscapes and cultural offerings.
“I am thrilled to pass the Grand Pacific Tours baton to Journey Beyond, who are now the proud custodians of our legacy. Like Grand Pacific Tours, Journey Beyond embodies an unwavering commitment to providing their customers with the very best experiences. Together, we are embarking on a new chapter filled with promise and excellence,” said Peter Harding, Founder and Managing Director of Grand Pacific Tours, in a press statement.
Harding will remain with Grand Pacific Tours as Executive General Manager to ensure a smooth transition, with General Manager Stacia Morris and all the Grand Pacific team joining the Journey Beyond group.
