Delta is extending its network from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX): Starting June 6, 2026, the airline will offer daily nonstop service to Hong Kong (HKG), while three daily flights to Chicago O’Hare (ORD) will commence on June 7, 2026.
“Launching service to Hong Kong and Chicago from LAX strengthens our presence in two of the world’s most dynamic markets,” said Paul Baldoni, SVP of Network Planning, in a press statement. “As the largest global carrier at LAX, we’re continuing to invest in routes that matter to our customers and deliver the premium travel experience that they’ve come to expect from [the airline].”
Pacific Crossings With Delta
The Hong Kong service will operate on the carrier’s state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900, with four cabin options: Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort and Delta Main. Delta One passengers will enjoy lie-flat seating, premium bedding and seasonal chef-prepared meals.
For Chicago-bound travelers, the airline will use Boeing 737-800 aircraft, offering Delta First, Delta Comfort and Delta Main cabins. The thrice-daily service is designed to accommodate both business and leisure travelers.
These new routes complement the carrier’s existing LAX operations, where it is currently the largest global carrier with more than 160 peak-day departures to over 50 destinations. The airline continues to grow at LAX, with the recent return of service to Shanghai (PVG) and the upcoming launch of year-round flights to Melbourne (MEL) in December 2025.
The airline’s investment in LAX extends beyond new routes. The airline has completed a $2.3 billion transformation at the airport, including the Sky Way at LAX and the modern Terminal 3. This 1.2 million-sq.-ft., 27-gate complex features a centralized check-in lobby, an expanded security checkpoint and an award-winning Delta Sky Club.
VIP customers flying to Hong Kong from LAX will have exclusive access to the new Delta One Lounge, offering nearly 200 seats, a rotating chef-curated menu and a year-round sushi bar. The lounge also offers a wellness room with full-body massage chairs.
In Chicago, eligible clients can enjoy the airline’s Sky Club in Terminal 5, a premium lounge at over 22,000 sq. ft., part of a $50 million investment to enhance the terminal.
All flights will offer seatback entertainment, complimentary Wi-Fi for SkyMiles members, power at every seat and consistent onboard service.
