When Star Princess sets sail on October 4, 2025, Princess Cruises promises a shipboard experience that goes far beyond traditional entertainment, with an immersive, multisensory lineup designed to engage and captivate guests throughout the ship.
Princess recently revealed the full entertainment program for its newest Sphere-class ship, offering travel advisors fresh selling points for clients eager to cruise on one of the line’s most innovative vessels. The 4,300-guest Star Princess will feature two original production shows, live concerts under candlelight, vibrant performances in its signature Piazza and onboard celebrations that transform evenings at sea into unforgettable experiences.
As a special preview, Princess offered an intimate audience at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale a sneak peek of Meridian, one of the ship’s original productions, with select cast members performing song and dance numbers that hint at the show’s sweeping storytelling and theatrical flair.
“I want our guests to feel something when they see these new performances,” Becky Thompson-Foley, Princess’ Head of Global Entertainment, told Recommend at the sneak-peek event. “I believe that with the entire entertainment program on Star Princess, every guest will feel like they didn’t just come to see a show, but they were a part of something that surprised them and inspired them.”
Original Productions Debuting in the Princess Arena
At the heart of Star Princess’ entertainment is the Princess Arena, the cruise line’s most advanced theater to date, where technology and storytelling converge. Two new original productions will make their debut:
-
Meridian: A cinematic love story set aboard a fictional grand ship, Celestial, during the age of elegance, guests follow the journey of noblewoman Arabella Dovewood. The production boasts an original score, reimagined chart-toppers and choreography from acclaimed creatives including BAFTA award-winning director Dan Shipton and choreographer Kieran Daley-Ward.
-
Illuminate: Set beneath the metaphorical canvas of a nostalgic circus tent, this vibrant spectacle explores the magic that lies beneath life’s illusions. Featuring a multi-generational pop score by Kola Bello and co-directed by Jay Revell, Illuminate blends breathtaking choreography and theatrical wonder to reveal the extraordinary in the everyday.
Both shows are produced in collaboration with Black Skull Creative, the team behind large-scale, immersive experiences that have been seen around the world. Also on the lineup is the return of Viva La Música, which premiered on Sun Princess. Choreographed by Liz Imperio, known for her work with pop icons like Jennifer Lopez and Madonna, the show celebrates Latin America’s vibrant rhythms with songs like “Havana” by Camila Cabello and Santana’s “Oye Como Va.”
For guests seeking a more atmospheric experience, The Dome will host the Candlelight Concert Series, a new offering that bathes the glass-enclosed venue in candlelight for intimate, live classical music performances. In the Piazza, guests can experience Princess Jamz, a 45-minute showcase by the 15-member Princess World Orchestra, led by the ship’s Cruise Director.
Additionally, the Celestial Champagne Soiree will debut exclusively aboard Star Princess. This multimedia celebration combines sound, light and visual storytelling, culminating in the cruise line’s signature Champagne Waterfall—a glamorous tradition reimagined for a new era of cruising.
Star Princess, the sister ship to Sun Princess, will sail its inaugural season in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Panama Canal and Alaska.
