Costa Rica’s Guanacaste Province will be the home of Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts’ latest incursion in Latin America, following the recent opening of the Waldorf Astoria Cancun earlier this month. The Waldorf Astoria Guanacaste is slated to open in 2025 as part of the Cacique Costa Rica Community that will include retail, residences and wellness experiences. The resort will give your clients the feeling of being far from the madding crowd while still being convenient to Guanacaste’s international airport (LIR – Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport) and two nearby beach towns so they can indulge in the country’s famous pura vida lifestyle.

“Hilton has always been committed to serving any guest, for any travel need, anywhere in the world, and we’re thrilled to expand our presence with the first Waldorf Astoria in Costa Rica,” said Chris Nassetta, president and CEO of Hilton, in a press statement. “Costa Rica is a fast-growing and highly sought-after destination that is an ideal place to introduce the world-class personal service of our Waldorf Astoria brand. We look forward to sharing our signature hospitality and creating unforgettable stays for our guests in this serene and beautiful location.”

The Waldorf Astoria Guanacaste will have unobstructed ocean views, 190 guestrooms and 25 residences, all with the brand’s usual high standards of luxury with a distinct focus on sustainability. Even the architecture will be in harmony with nature, mirroring the country’s green conscience, and all resort vehicles will be electric. The holistic wellness center will have a state-of-the-art gym, movement studio, outdoor yoga, and lap and thermal pools. The spa will be inspired by the cenotes, or freshwater sinkholes, and will have 8 treatment rooms and another three in what will feel like an outdoor treehouse.

The resort will be family-friendly, so kids and teens are welcome to enjoy the many activities as well as the kid’s center and teen’s club. Have a client looking for a unique destination wedding venue? The Waldorf Astoria Guanacaste will have some 10,000 sq. feet of indoor and outdoor event space, a lawn and a ceremonial pavilion for the important “I do.”
