Celebrity River Cruises has introduced a new destination discovery program for its upcoming river cruise itineraries, designed to give travelers deeper cultural immersion across Europe’s river cruise destinations.
The program, available on all 2027 and 2028 sailings, features four distinct experience categories that combine locally guided excursions, hands-on cultural activities and self-guided exploration tools.
Four Distinct Series for River Cruising
The new program includes the Storyteller Series, which connects guests with residents, artists and cultural experts who guide small-group experiences in each destination. Excursions combine visits to well-known landmarks with lesser-known locations and personal stories from local hosts.
Another option, the Skillmaster Series, focuses on hands-on cultural experiences led by local artisans and makers. Activities allow guests to participate in traditional crafts, culinary experiences and creative workshops that reflect the cultural identity of each region.
For travelers who prefer independent exploration, the Keys to the City Series introduces a tech-driven platform featuring interactive maps, audio guides and video content. The digital tool provides curated routes tailored to specific interests such as art, architecture, history and food, while also directing guests to locations where local hosts provide behind-the-scenes access to studios and workshops.
Each voyage will also feature a Celebrity Takeover Series event—an exclusive experience offered once per sailing. These private events will transform notable European landmarks or plazas into curated experiences available only to Celebrity River Cruises guests.
Bookings for the pre- and post-cruise stays are expected to open this summer, while destination experiences will become available for booking in 2027.
