Royal Caribbean International is on a roll, with updates from its newest ship, Utopia of the Seas, and more from its private island escape, Perfect Day at CocoCay, with the reveal of its adults-only Hideaway Beach.

Royal Caribbean International’s Utopia of the Seas is Nearing Debut

Floating for the first time is the brand’s Utopia of the Seas, Royal Caribbean International’s newest Oasis Class ship currently under construction at Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France. The ship is expected to debut in July of 2024.

The “float out” is an important moment in the life of Utopia, which took 17 months to get there—construction began in April 2022. It will now move to an outfitting dock, where it will remain until summer 2024 getting its attractions installed, including the 295-foot-long Ultimate Abyss slide—the longest dry slide at sea—and a unique immersive train car dining experience, along with over 40 other eateries, pools galore and much more. The environmentally-friendly Oasis will also debut new nightlife and entertainment, and brand new 3-night weekend and 4-night weekday escapes, with every one of them stopping in Nassau, The Bahamas, for a visit to Perfect Day at CocoCay (read on for more on that).

Perfect Day at CocoCay Grows Up

Well, in a sense: the private beach hideaway in The Bahamas just unveiled a peek at its first adults-only section, Hideaway Beach. The entire project will debut in January 2024 along with the Icon of the Seas, which will take its passengers to this unprecedented private escape.

“Hideaway Beach is a completely new vibe and experience that vacationers are looking for on Perfect Day at CocoCay. Everything from its hidden-like location to the exclusive beach and pools to the private cabanas is designed for adults who want a day just for them,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, in a press statement. “There are experiences for everyone on a Royal Caribbean vacation, and that’s at the heart of our private island and its popularity. Whether it’s thrill or chill, family time or time to celebrate, families and friends can create their ‘perfect’ vacation day without compromise, and Hideaway Beach adds to what continues to be an unmatched combination of ways to do just that.”

Hideaway Beach will have an entry charge, and its where 18+ guests can enjoy a private beach, 20 cabanas, two pools, 7 open-air bars and eateries and more sans littles. Expect all the beach games they can handle, a live DJ by the pool and lounges and hammocks if the idea is to simply chill and enjoy the breeze.
