andBeyond has expanded its South American offerings with the extensively refurbished Galapagos Explorer, a luxury expedition yacht launched in June of this year. The vessel offers two different 7-night itineraries exploring the eastern and western Galapagos Islands.
The 124-foot yacht accommodates 12 guests in six cabins and suites, with two expert guides accompanying each voyage. This high staff-to-guest ratio positions the Galapagos Explorer as one of the most exclusive options in the region.
“A uniquely biodiverse environment with the highest number of endemic species in the world, the Galapagos is a natural choice for the further expansion of our portfolio in South America. We are absolutely thrilled to finally bring our brand of responsible tourism to this precious part of the world, which the Ecuadorian government has protected from over-tourism by strictly limiting the number of operating licenses issued,” said andBeyond Executive Chairman and CEO Joss Kent, in a press statement.
“We have long believed that the best way to encourage our guests to help protect the world’s wild places is for our skilled guides to help travelers not only fall in love with those places, but also to gain an understanding of the threats that they are facing. This is what we are aiming to do with our luxury yacht, where two knowledgeable guides will host just twelve guests, showcasing the wonder and mystery of this exceptional destination.”
andBeyond’s New Vessel Highlights
The two different itineraries offer your clients the chance to explore the east or the west of the main cluster of islands in the Galapagos, including visits to iconic locations such as Kicker Rock, Gardner Bay and Sombrero Chino Island. Your clients can participate in activities like snorkeling, hiking, and birdwatching.
The yacht underwent a sustainability-focused refurbishment, including upgrades to improve fuel efficiency. It now boasts four beautiful cabins and two luxury suites.
Of note for your eco-conscious clients: andBeyond plans to extend its Oceans Without Borders conservation initiative to the Galapagos, exploring opportunities for marine protection projects in the area.
