Alaska Airlines Merges Loyalty Program, Launches Premium Credit Card

‘Atmos Rewards’ is the name of Alaska Airlines’ new customer loyalty program, which is combined with that of Hawaiian Airlines and also banners the airline’s just-launched premium credit card.

The combination of Alaska Airlines’ Mileage Plan and Hawaiian Airlines’ HawaiianMiles follows the acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines by Alaska Airlines in late 2024. The two airlines will still operate as distinctive entities, however.

In addition to earning points on the two airlines, cardholders can also gather rewards by flying on the 30 members of the oneworld airline alliance.

Beginning in late 2026, Atmos Rewards members can choose to earn points (no longer ‘miles’) in three ways: distance traveled, price paid and segments flown.

According to the airline, the distance traveled option, which earns one point for every mile flown, is best suited to budget travelers; premium-class passengers can opt to earn five points for every dollar they spend to fly, while travelers who tend to take more short-distance flights may decide to earn 500 points for each segment flown.

Atmos Rewards points also can be earned on hotel stays and Lyft rides.

The new Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite card, which carries a $395 annual fee, is another way to accumulate points (in addition to the existing Alaska Airlines- and Hawaiian Airlines-branded credit cards). The premium card credits holders with one point for every dollar spent; international travelers also earn 3X points for all overseas spending, as well as eligible dining purchases. Cardholders with accounts at Bank of America, which issues the card, can also earn a 10 percent rewards bonus on all purchases.

Reward points can also be shared with up to 10 other Atmos Rewards members.

Customers earn one point toward elite status for every $2 spent, plus 10,000 bonus status points annually—the threshold for reaching the airline’s lowest elite level, Atmos Silver, is 20,000 status points.

Spending money on the Atmos Rewards credit cards can also earn companion passes, including 25,000 points annually toward a companion’s ticket and 100,000 when spending $60,000 or more per year.

The airline is currently offering 100,000 bonus points after spending $6,000 or more on purchases within the first 90 days of opening a new account.

Other perks include eight lounge passes, a free first checked bag, priority boarding status, automatic $50 vouchers when flights are delayed and waived fees for same-day flight changes,

Separately, Alaska Airlines announced that it will be adding Starlink inflight WiFi connectively to its fleet in 2026, with completion expected in 2027.
