AmaWaterways is looking to 2027 and a new river cruise lineup in partnership with Smithsonian Journeys, featuring 42 departures across Europe and Southeast Asia. The collaboration combines AmaWaterways’ renowned hospitality with Smithsonian’s expertise in cultural exploration, offering travelers immersive experiences led by historians, archaeologists, and local specialists.

The 2027 collection features two standout new itineraries that showcase diverse cultural experiences. The Grand Waterways of France offers a comprehensive 15-day exploration along three iconic rivers—the Seine, Saone and Rhone—taking travelers from the beaches of Normandy through Burgundy’s wine country to Provence. For those seeking Asian adventures, Along the Mekong offers a 17-day immersion through Vietnam and Cambodia, combining visits to Ho Chi Minh City and Phnom Penh with encounters in rural, riverside communities along Southeast Asia’s iconic waterway.
Eleven returning European itineraries include Danube, Rhine and Douro River cruises, each featuring exclusive excursions and optional pre- or post-cruise land packages.
