Nobu Hotels knows no bounds, as it makes its first hotel venture into Africa with its eyes set on a Jan. 23 opening of a new, all-suite property in Marrakech. Located in the heart of the city’s “Golden Triangle” in the Hivernage District, Nobu Hotel Marrakech will harmonize the global lifestyle brand’s signature Asian verve with the rhythm of the city’s heritage, sitting steps away from souks and the famous Djemaa el-Fna.
The five-star hotel’s interior design incorporates aspects of Marrakech architecture as homage to the city’s craftspeople, with intricate detailing, handmade fixtures, and local artwork. Paired with Nobu’s Japanese style, the lobby will welcome guests to an establishment that gently blends the contemporary and the historical. Deeper inside the property await 71 expansive suites, destination dining including a Nobu Restaurant and Bar, a rooftop sushi bar and pool, as well as the Pearl Spa.
The all-suite hotel will split its rooms across three floors, where guests may pick from 44 Junior Suites, 6 Deluxe Junior Suites, 18 Deluxe One Bedroom Suites, 2 Miyabi Suites and 1 Nobu Suite. The similarity between each of them is their views of either North Africa’s Atlas Mountain Range or Marrakech’s largest Islamic house of worship, Koutoubia Mosque.
Dining options at the hotel will put the blend of Nobu and Marrakech spirit on a plate, as the Nobu Restaurant and Bar will feature signature dishes, such as black cod miso and yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno, along with new dishes made with locally sourced flavors and ingredients. The Nobu sushi bar at the Rooftop restaurant will also offer a daily selection of seasonal Moroccan and Mediterranean eats.
The Pearl Spa at Nobu Hotel Marrakech will be one of the largest in any Nobu Hotel, with a range of relaxation options including traditional hammams, a heated indoor swimming pool, saunas, and a VIP Spa Suite, laid out over a 22,000-sq.-ft. space.
