Here’s a handful of escapes in Mexico—from a South Pacific-style retreat to a fitness-infused getaway.

High Energy
Tell clients to pack their exercise bag because AIC Hotel Group has partnered with LES MILLS and is in the process of debuting a series of fitness programs at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya, with plans to expand to Hard Rock Hotel Cancun in 2017. Through a weekly visiting instructor program, the partnership will offer guests three daily classes from a collection of 14 training programs—from group fitness classes, including the BODYPUMP total body strength-training program, to 30-minute High-Intensity Interval-Training programs, as well as BORN TO MOVE, youth fitness programming designed for toddlers to teens. Rates for Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya HACIENDA are $358.50 per night dbl through Dec. 23.

Rejuvenate in Eco Luxury
The 12-room Playa Viva is ideal for eco-conscious guests looking to recharge as it hosts an array of wellness workshops throughout the year. The resort’s Rejuvenate: Giving and Receiving workshop, for example, is set for Feb. 11-16, 2017 and was created with couples in mind (it falls during Valentine’s Day). The property features contact yoga, a chocolate-making workshop, fire ceremony on the beach, the opportunity to release baby turtles, and unlimited beach exploration. Couples can also go hiking, take a cooking class, and participate in a singing/chanting evening, as well as go stargazing or boogie-boarding. Included in the 5-night package, with standard rates starting at $1,650 pp dbl or $1,900 for deluxe rates, are beachfront accommodations, all meals, onsite excursions, yoga classes, and transportation from the Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo ariport.

VIP Access
The newly renovated Occidental Grand Xcaret, which as of Oct. 15 will be known as the Occidental at Xcaret Destination, is offering guests the opportunity for a VIP experience at Xcaret Park with the Unlimited Xcaret Xperience package. It includes VIP hotel check-in; all-day unlimited access and multi-entrance to Xcaret Park; reserved area seating at the Gran Tlachco Theater during the “Xcaret Mexico Espectacular” show; 30 percent off the 90-minute WAYAK Special Maya massage at the hotel spa; and other amenities. The package, valid through Dec. 20, starts at $355.50 dbl ($177.75 pp per night dbl).

Indigenous Treats
New indigenous treatments grace the pages of the updated spa menu at Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun’s 40,000-sq.-ft. Gem Spa. The new treatments are inspired by ancient healing practices, and include massages, facials and body wraps. Spa-goers seeking a truly relaxing experience can complement their service with the spa’s complimentary 10-step Hydrotherapy Ritual, featuring warm and cool temperatures combined with high and low water pressures. Recommend the Gem Spa Dining Experience, an intimate culinary and pampering experience guests can partake in while donning a bathrobe. Rates for Junior Ocean View Suite accommodations vary from $213 to $669 per night dbl depending on season.

Overwater Bliss
Mexico’s first and only Palafitos-Overwater Bungalows have made their grand debut at the adults-only El Dorado Maroma, A Beachfront Resort, by Karisma. These decadent accommodations offer ocean views, glass-bottom floors, direct ladder access to the ocean, outdoor Aguas del Amor showers, private infinity pools, indoor Jacuzzis, and oversized decks with lounge chairs that look out over the ocean horizon. The overwater experience comes with an overwater restaurant and the 4-suite Naay Spa Over the Ocean. Clients can also request customized beach picnics, and butler service, plus the El Dorado Maroma resort is just a short walk away across the beach. Rates for Palafitos-Overwater Bungalows start at $950 per adult per night.

Hidden Gem
Accessible only by boat, La Troza, located just south of Puerto Vallarta, is ideal for clients seeking a friends and family retreat. Designed for one party at a time (it sleeps up to 26 guests), your clients will feel as if they’ve descended upon their own private beachfront estate. This all-inclusive estate features three separate residences—the main Villa, the Beach House and two separate Casitas—as well as a restaurant, an infinity-edge pool, and an outdoor Jacuzzi. There’s also The Spa at La Troza, as well as access to an array of activities, from kayaking and surf excursions to tequila and mescal tasting. Rates start at $5,000 per night, 3-night minimum, with all meals, snacks, unlimited beer, wine and national liquor included; a full-service staff and chef service is also part of the stay.

A Step Back in Time
On the Grand Maya Adventure package at the Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen Resort, guests are whisked away to Chichen Itza, the archaeological complex that’s home to breathtaking Maya ruins, and upon their return to the resort, two signature ancestral spa treatments await at the 6,000-sq.-ft., 8-treatment room Cenote Spa. With a decor inspired by these geological formations found in the Yucatan Peninsula, the spa offers treatments that hark back to Maya culture, including the Mayan Bliss Massage, and the Gift of the Gods Obsidian Hot Stone Massage. Rates for the Grand Maya Adventure package are $400 pp and room rates start at $199 per night in a Grand Queen or Grand King Room.
