The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA) is inviting both travel advisors and their clients to take part in the Saint Lucia Summer of Discovery promotion, which gives participants the chance to win cash prizes.
As part of this promotion, travel advisors have the chance to win a $1,000 prize. In order to be eligible,advisors must first complete the Saint Lucia Travel Agent Expert Program, which was created by a partnership between SLTA and Recommend. Once completed, advisors must record bookings made now through Sept. 30, 2018. To win extra prizes, advisors can tell their clients to hashtag the name of their agency in social media posts. At the end of the promotional period, one winner will be chosen for the grand prize.
For clients, the stakes are even higher with a $10,000 prize up for grabs. The Summer of Discovery promotion is designed to encourage visitors to engage with 25 sites and attractions chosen by SLTA that showcase the island’s strengths in the area of family, adventure, diving, romance, culinary, and health and wellness. In order to participate in the promotion, visitors must follow @travelsaintlucia on Instagram and Facebook, visit a minimum of five out of the 25 pre-determined sites, and take a selfie. The photo must then be posted using the hashtag #summerofdiscovery, along with location-specific hashtags for each site. One of the selfies must be at the property where visitors are staying and they must also tag @travelsaintlucia in the photos in order for their entry to be complete. For every location-based selfie posted beyond the five minimum, participants will receive an additional entry in the sweepstakes.
In addition, the promotion will feature the new “Holiday Travel Guarantee,” which is a policy adopted by a number of properties on the island stating that guests will not forfeit their vacation as a result of adverse weather and will instead be allowed to defer their holiday to a later date. A selection of participating hotels are also offering 65 percent discounts as part of the promotion, while others are offering special packages.
