Take Me Away to Margaritaville…in Hollywood

Walking in through the doors of the newly opened Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort, I notice a sign above the doorway that reads “Mi Casa Es Su Casa”—Spanish for “My Home is Your Home”—which resonated with me since I felt as if I was walking into Jimmy Buffett’s personal space. Upon entering the resort, I was instantly captivated by the immense flip flop statue displayed in the lobby area. Just behind the giant blue flip flop the reception desk stood, which claimed, “No Passport Required” above the lobby desk; to my right, there was a large seating area and above it, a chandelier-type display of margarita glasses in all sizes. Now, this is a vibe anyone trying to get away from it all can settle into. Buffett’s song Holiday states: “Take a holiday, find a far off wonderland, where you might regain command, of your life today.” Margaritaville Hollywood Beach is just the oasis for your clients to get away from it all.

The spaces are grand, airy, and light with white walls and a wooden floor pathway leading straight to the beach and let’s not forget the restaurants and bars. Buffett’s inspirations are found all around the resort from the surfboards from his personal collection adorning the lobby walls, to song lyrics in the lobby cabanas (yes, there are cabanas in the lobby), to the suites and event rooms named after songs and famous lyrics.

The 349-room, 17-story oceanfront resort features an 11,000-sq.-ft. spa (opening soon), eight bars and restaurants, paddleboard rentals, retail shops, and the 11th floor License to Chill Bar and pool, which offers stunning ocean views. There are also two additional pools on the ground floor, as well as 22 cabanas, and a FlowRider surf simulator for those looking to challenge the surf. For guests who find it difficult to leave their four-legged friends behind, they can take advantage of the resort’s pet-friendly policy, which allows furry-friends up to 25 pounds to stay at the resort with their owners.

The suites, such as the Son of a Sailor, offer guests a living area, a full kitchen, an outdoor patio, and direct access to the 11th floor License to Chill Bar and pool area. Other suites feature a wraparound patio with both ocean and intercoastal views, a breakfast nook, and seating areas.

Unique touches can be found all over the resort, such as at the ice cream and coffee shop, where the tables are actually surfboards, or at the Margaritaville restaurant, where two unique tables stand out—both inside a boat in the middle of the dinning room.

Room rates start at $259 per night including WiFi, access to the fitness center and classes, plus two beach chairs and an umbrella. Call for suite rates. As Buffett’s popular song lyrics state, I’d have to agree with him on this one, “I want to go back to Margaritaville…” For more information, call (954) 874-4444 or visit margaritavilleresorts.com.
