Located in Mazatlan, Mexico, Riu Emerald Bay has added a new water park, children’s playground, two pools, a theater, and a restaurant. Additionally, 132 guestrooms were added, many of which are adjoining rooms and family suites.
The Splash Water Park is the place to hang for the young (or young at heart), and the kids can hit the new children’s pool, which features its own water slides. Also debuting is RiuLand, with its indoor play area complete with slides, mazes and ball pools.
In addition to the aforementioned, there’s a new lounge bar with a stage, where guests can enjoy the extensive evening entertainment program. There are also two new pools, one of which has a swim-up bar, and an area for the RiuFit team to run their sports activities.
To complete this extension, and as a new dining option, the chain has introduced a new restaurant, El Malecon, which offers an extensive buffet with international dishes and live cooking, as well as three themed nights each week.
