Kenya Airways’ new nonstop flight between Nairobi and New York marks a major milestone for the airline: Launching the airline’s first route servicing the U.S. and becoming the first airline to offer a nonstop flight between East Africa and the U.S.

Kenya Airways will operate a Boeing 787 with a capacity of 234 passengers on daily flights from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to John F. Kennedy International Airport and back. The flight will depart from Nairobi at 11:25 p.m. and arrive in New York the following day at 6:25 a.m. The New York flight will depart at 12:25 p.m. and land in Kenya at 10:55 a.m. the following day. This schedule will allow passengers to make connections to and from over 40 African destinations that Kenya Airways serves through its hub in Nairobi.
