Delta Air Lines is expanding its service to Cuba with the addition of a nonstop flight from Miami.
Starting Oct. 28, 2018, the service will be Delta’s second nonstop flight between Miami International Airport and Havana. Delta will operate this flight five times a week on an Airbus A320 aircraft with seating for 16 passengers in First Class, 18 in Delta Comfort+ and 123 in the main cabin. The new flight service will depart from Miami at 7:50 p.m. arriving in Havana at 9 p.m. For the return journey, the flight will depart from Havana at 10 p.m. and arrive in Miami at 11:05 p.m.
“Because Miami is an important market for Delta we want to offer more options to our customers,” said Luciano Macagno, Delta’s managing director for Latin America and the Caribbean, in press materials. “The new flight provides our customers with an evening departure from both points in addition to the current morning flight out of Miami and Havana, where we are about to mark our second year of renewed service.”
Delta also has plans to increase service between New York and several island nations this year with the addition of a second daily flight to Nassau, The Bahamas starting Oct. 1, 2018 and the addition of flights to Kingston, Jamaica; Port-au-Prince, Haiti; and Antigua and Barbuda all starting in late December 2018.
