Next summer will see the opening of Cayo Levantado Resort, a brand-new resort under the Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts portfolio. Good news is that the property, located in the Dominican Republic, is already taking reservations for its June 1, 2023 opening.
Situated on the island of Cayo Levantado, just a few miles from Samana Bay, this is a completely rebranded and extensively renovated property, embracing the A Rhythm All Its Own concept. Cayo Levantado Resort is dedicated to “offering an expertly curated, distinctly Dominican, and decidedly authentic experience,” note the press materials.
Under the concept A Rhythm All Its Own, Cayo Levantado invites guests to discover the creative and architectural design of the resort, which will be based on three pillars:
- Local Culture: Local interior designers, architects and professionals took part in the development of the area, above all by integrating their local culture in all areas, including gastronomy and mixology.
- Sustainability: Waste management strategies and renewable energy through a biodigester will be implemented, making this a self-sufficient property. In addition, gardening, and landscaping with native species of the island will be used.
- Wellness: Promoted in a more integrative perspective, the wellness experience will be reflected in all spaces and services.

Resort guests will find an island made up of three sandy and palm-fringed beaches, two of which are for the exclusive use of Caya Levantado Resort guests. They’ll also find 200 rooms of varying categories as well as two swimming pools, two spas (including a jungle spa), an outdoor CrossFit area, a beach club, a personal training studio, a beauty salon, botanic garden, a wide range of entertainment activities and an exclusive area focused on wellness.
There are also three à la carte restaurants, one buffet restaurant, four bars and a coffee shop, plus two additional specialty restaurants.
