Half Moon will officially reopen Eclipse at Half Moon on April 2—a notable milestone for both the property and Montego Bay’s broader post–Hurricane Melissa recovery.
To mark the reopening, the resort is rolling out a “Welcome Back Home” offer aimed at encouraging longer stays at the resort. Guests booking three nights at Eclipse receive a complimentary fourth night, along with daily breakfast and complimentary dining for children five and under throughout their stay. The offer is valid for stays through Dec. 19, 2026, with reservations required by Dec. 14, 2026 (blackout dates apply).
A Signal of Jamaica’s Recovery
Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett, framed the reopening as more than just a property milestone. “The reopening of Eclipse at Half Moon is a powerful signal of confidence in Jamaica’s tourism sector and our national recovery,” he said in a media statement, noting Half Moon’s legacy as a standard-bearer for “excellence, innovation and authentic Jamaican hospitality.”
Located just 10 minutes from Sangster International Airport (MBJ), Half Moon stretches along two miles of coastline and is a member of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts Legend Collection. The property features 57 beachfront accommodations, an infinity-edge pool, swimming coves and multiple bars and restaurants. Beyond Eclipse, Half Moon will also debut its newly reimagined villas, offering six- and seven-bedroom accommodations well-suited for multigenerational families and milestone celebrations.
Half Moon temporarily closed following Hurricane Melissa in October 2025, using the downtime not only for restoration and renovation but also to support its more than 850 team members, many of whom were directly impacted by the storm.
Guy Steuart III, Chairman and third-generation owner, emphasized that recovery extended beyond bricks and mortar. “At Half Moon, care has always been at the centre of what we do — care for our people and care for our guests,” he said in a press statement, crediting both staff and loyal guests for their patience and resilience.
