Scenic Eclipse II is taking ultra-luxury cruising to exciting new depths as the first commercial cruise operator to offer a submersible experience in the majestic Great Barrier Reef, Queensland, Australia.
With the introduction of its new state-of-the-art submersible Scenic Neptune II, the Discovery Yacht sets the benchmark in underwater exploration. On the opposite coast of Australia, the 228-guest, ultra-luxury yacht will be the only ship in the Kimberley region with two state-of-the-art helicopters, allowing for exploration in one of the world’s most rugged and remote destinations. Two-for-one fares and other savings offers are available for early bookings.
Australia’s Top End: Cape York & the Great Barrier Reef
Custom-designed in collaboration with Triton Submarines, Scenic Neptune II features the latest technology, delivering captivating excursions into the remarkable World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef. Diving up to 600 feet below the surface, Scenic Neptune II‘s spacious interior and crystal-clear acrylic sphere will provide unrestricted views, for complete immersion in the mesmerizing vistas beneath the surface. Accommodating up to eight guests and an expert pilot, the submersible is equipped with multiple guest safety features, including comprehensive Safe Return to Surface procedures and multiple fail-safes in its design.
Setting sail on April 30, 2024, guests on Australia’s Top End: Cape York & Arnhem Land voyage will be among the first to explore the splendors of the Great Barrier Reef in this extraordinary style of discovery.
The Kimberley Coastline
Scenic Eclipse II ‘s Airbus H130-T2 helicopters set new standards for tourism worldwide. With spacious, air-conditioned interiors and large windows, guests are fully immersed in the spectacular natural environment. They are also the quietest helicopters in the sky and feature BOSE noise-cancelling headsets for optimal comfort. With no need for transfers to an external operator and simultaneous landings and departures direct from the ship, guests have more time to spend in the air or at their destination.
Scenic is offering two itineraries exploring this ancient wilderness with a total of 12 departures, from May thru August 2024: Discover the Kimberley Coastline and Uncover the Kimberley Coastline, sailing in opposite directions between Darwin and Broome. On each voyage, the flightseeing program will be complimented by up to 11 exhilarating helicopter excursions, from flightseeing tours over the iconic King George River and Horizontal Falls to visits to remote indigenous communities.
Scenic Eclipse II has 114 all-verandah suites range in size from 345 sf to 2,659 sf, giving guests ample room to spread out and relax. All guests enjoy butler services which deliver luxury touches from in-suite drinks and dining to coordinating dinner and spa reservations to personalized attention.
Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours has grown over its 37-year history to take guests to many of the world’s most fascinating destinations. In 2019, Scenic introduced Scenic Eclipse, “The World’s First Discovery Yacht,” followed by Scenic Eclipse II in April 2023.
