Paul Gauguin Cruises has announced its 2026 Moana Explorer Program, a complimentary offering for guests aged 6-15 aboard the m/s Paul Gauguin. The program, now in its sixth year of partnership with Te mana o te moana, a South Pacific marine education foundation, will be available on 11 summer and holiday voyages.

“In partnership with Te mana o te moana, our Moana Explorer Program continues to be incredibly popular and we are thrilled to offer our young guests activities led by local naturalists that are both educational and fun,” said Susan Robison, General Manager, Sales and Marketing, for Paul Gauguin Cruises, in a press statement. “The result is one of the most deeply authentic experiences children can experience when exploring French Polynesia with Paul Gauguin Cruises.”

The Moana Explorer Program aims to engage young travelers with French Polynesia’s natural environment and cultures through interactive activities. These include water pollution impact studies, beach games, volcanic hikes, and snorkeling with naturalists. The program’s structure diverges from traditional children’s cruise offerings, focusing on immersive, locally-inspired experiences.

The 2026 voyages featuring the Moana Explorer Program include:

  • 7-Night Tahiti & Society Islands features overnights in Bora Bora, Moorea and Tahiti. (August 8)
  • 7-Night More Society Islands & Tahiti includes a return to sacred Raiatea and an overnight in Bora Bora and Tahiti. (August 29)
  • 10-Night More Tuamotus & Society Islands explores lagoons in Fakara and Rangiroa and overnights in Bora Bora and Moorea. (July 29)
  • 14-Night Marquesas, Tuamotus & Society Islands visits the jungle-clad, archaeologically-rich Marquesan isles and lagoons of Fakarava and Bora Bora. (August 15, December 19)

These itineraries feature destinations such as Bora Bora, Moorea, Raiatea, Fakarava’s UNESCO Marine Biosphere Reserve and the archaeologically rich Marquesan islands.

The program is included in the cruise fare at no additional cost. Paul Gauguin Cruises also offers a “kids sail free” promotion for travelers 17 and under sharing a suite or stateroom with parents.

The Moana Explorer Program is also available on select voyages in 2024 and 2025.
