AmaWaterways has unveiled a new City Escapes program designed to give river cruise guests more time to explore Europe’s most popular cities along the Seine, Rhine and Danube.

The new collection of sailings offer additional overnight stays, more daylight cruising and 24 hours or more in major cities including Paris, Amsterdam, Vienna, Strasbourg and Budapest.

Along the Seine, Rhine & Danube

Along the Seine, itineraries will include extended stays in Paris, Rouen and Normandy. In Paris, excursions range from guided walks through historic neighborhoods to bike rides along the Left Bank and museum visits, including the Marmottan Monet Museum. In Normandy, travelers can visit the D-Day landing beaches or explore the harbor town of Honfleur.

On the Rhine, the program highlights destinations such as Breisach, Strasbourg, Heidelberg, Cologne and Amsterdam. Experiences include exploring Colmar and the Alsatian wine region, touring Strasbourg’s historic center on foot or by bike and discovering Heidelberg’s old town.

City Escapes itineraries on the Danube combine scenic sailing through the Wachau Valley and Danube Bend with cultural programming in Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna, Linz and Passau.

To promote the new itineraries, AmaWaterways is offering a limited-time City Escapes promotion on select departures booked between now and June 30, 2026. The offer includes up to $1,000 in cruise savings per stateroom, a complimentary stateroom upgrade and $50 onboard credit per guest.
