In 2020, Adventures by Disney will offer more European river cruise sailings than ever before, including a brand-new vacation through southern France on the Rhone River. The guided group travel leader will also launch new Short Escape itineraries in Paris, Amsterdam and Budapest, which can be booked as pre- or post-cruise stays or as standalone trips.

The expanded season of Adventures by Disney river cruises includes 27 departures along the Danube, Rhine, Seine and Rhone rivers sailing aboard AmaWaterways vessels. To complement the increased selection of family vacations in 2020, 10 river cruise departures are reserved exclusively for adults.

Sailing on the Rhone
Adventures by Disney will embark on six Rhone River cruises in 2020, comprised of three family departures and three dates reserved for adults. During the new 8-day Rhone River itinerary aboard the AmaCello, guests will sail through southern France with stops in towns and cities such as Lyon, Tournon, Avignon, and Arles. Highlights of this itinerary include hiking and biking through several towns and villages; kayaking beneath the 2,000-year-old Roman aqueduct, Pont du Gard; participating in interactive culinary experiences such as truffle-hunting and cheese making; engaging in art-focused excursions with silk-weaving in Lyon and painting classes in Roussillon; plus immersive historical tours.

Short Escapes
Beginning in 2020, Adventures by Disney guests can extend their European river cruise vacations with 3-day, 2-night stays in Paris, Amsterdam and Budapest. These guided group itineraries are designed to maximize vacation time, highlighting each city’s most well-known attractions while also experiences a few hidden gems. Guests will be led on their pre- or post-cruise stays by two dedicated Adventure Guides.

The Paris Short Escape can be added to Seine and Rhone sailings to round-out vacations in northern or southern France, while the Budapest Short Escape can be added to Danube River sailings. The Amsterdam Short Escape can be added as a post-cruise stay following Rhine River sailings to complete the cruise’s 4-country journey. Short Escapes can also be booked as standalone getaways.
