Travel rules currently in place at the properties include compulsory use of masks in closed rooms and social distancing restrictions. Wellness areas are not yet permitted to operate in the current phase of reopening.
9. Eco Park Hotel Azalea
The Eco Park Hotel Azalea is located in the small Italian town of Cavalese in the Val di Fiemme. The family-run hotel offers activities such as hiking to nearby mountain lakes and yoga classes hosted in the garden. It offers mostly vegan and vegetarian cuisine, and is family friendly, offering a playroom for children with a miniature studio, Lego and more.
To make guests feel safe during their vacation, Azalea provides washable, ecologically certified and self-made masks and colloidal silver gel for disinfection. During breakfast and dinner, sufficient distance is maintained both on the terrace and in the dining room. Microorganisms are used as a general cleaning agent for surfaces, SONETT surface disinfectant and colloidal silver are used selectively for handles, and a steamer with essential oils (lavender, tyme, teatree lemon, copaiba) is used for mattresses and curtains.
8. La Subida
La Subida in Friuli, ran by the Sirk family and team, opened in May this year. The country resort is located on the border of Italy and Slovenia and boasts a Michelin star restaurant. Guests can experience nature when hiking or cycling, or with a cozy bath in the middle of tall grass or a night in a four-poster bed in the hayloft.
7. Relais del Maro
The Relais del Maro is ran by the Scalambrin family and located in historical buildings in the middle of the picturesque village of Borgomaro in Liguria. It will be receiving guests starting on Jun. 15, 2020. For breakfast, guests meet in the main building and enjoy the many local specialities in the romantic garden or out on the terrace. The pool with a view of the surrounding mountains and the village also invites you to stay and relax. Guests can also head to the nearby glamorous beaches of the Ligurian Sea or visit the impressive town of Imperial.
6. Hotel Milano Scala
Hotel Milano Scala is Milan’s first zero emission hotel. It is located directly in the city center in Milan’s artists’ quarter, Brevia, and expects to welcome guests again at the beginning of September. The hotel boasts 62 rooms across seven floors, and has been fitted with a new filter system in the rooms, which makes the air quality clean and low in fine dust particles. All cultural squares, restaurants and shopping streets are within walking distance of the property, and after a long day of sightseeing, guests can relax with a cocktail on the roof terrace of the boutique hotel and enjoy the view over the city.
5. Locanda Mistral
The family-run hotel Locanda Mistral is located in the idyllic village of Ponte Maira, at the end of the Maira Valley, at an altitude of around 1,400 meters. It plans to reopen on Jun. 13 and consists of two converted farmhouses in Occitan style offering 14 guestrooms. The region offers active adventures in all seasons, including hiking, climbing, mountain biking and snowshoeing. As well as being the operator of the hotel, Renato Botte is also an experienced mountain guide who offers guided tours and knows the best routes in the area. While Manuela Botte cooks at the hotel’s new restaurant and places great emphasis on fresh, high quality ingredients. All dishes are prepared at the Locanda Mistral itself, with the seasons, the origin and quality of the products playing a major role.
4. Sagna Rotonda
The hotel Sagna Rotonda is located in Piedmont’s Maira Valley and will be reopening from May. 29 to Oct. 15, 2020, and then again on Dec. 22, 2020 to Jan. 6, 2021. Guests stay in furnished holiday apartments in traditional houses among the unspoiled mountains. The owners Giovanni and Teresina have renovated the old buildings themselves and guests enjoy a breathtaking, panoramic view of the mountain landscape. In the eco-holiday village away from mass tourism, the stressful everyday life can be quickly forgotten and the alpine mountain world can be discovered while hiking or mountain biking.
3. Hotel Rinner
The family-run Hotel Rinner is located in South Tyrol on the Ritten mountains. It is poised to reopen on Jun. 19, and is known for its in-house organic bee keeping and bee products. For more than three generations the Rinner family has dedicated itself to beekeeping, which provides abundant premium organic honey, as well as a unique Api Wellness experience that harnesses the healing power of beehive air. Guests can stay in family-friendly rooms, there is a large playground, a recreation and sunbathing lawn, and playrooms in the hotel.
2. Dolomit Boutique Hotel
The Dolomit Boutique Hotel consists of individually furnished apartments and houses located in the heart of the village of La Villa in the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The property boasts a heated swimming pool, Finnish sauna and a playground for children. If you are looking for something really special, rent the Dolomit Designchalet “Mi Chalet”, a sustainable architectural wonder that combines Ladin and modern influences.
1. La Vimea
La Vimea in the Vinschgau Valley near Merano is set to open on Jun. 20. The philosophy of the hotel is based on a holistic view of people and nature, and offers vegan cuisine. The indoor pool and the wellness area will be closed for health security reasons due to COVID-19, but its large park and outdoor swimming pond will be accessible to guests.
